An excellent introduction to nutrition basics, shopping and cooking strategies, nutritional supplements, and a number of additional more specific questions in each of these categories with their answers. A good start.
This portion of the Johns Hopkins Medical School website gives you new guidelines for healthy eating using the updated Federal food pyramid, which recommends how much of the various food groups you should ideally consume. It also gives you a number of nutrition and weight loss alerts and special reports to help you determine what's best to eat.

Simmering Pot
Every Monday afternoon/evening at the Blue Hill Congregational Church on Main St. there is a free afternoon/evening meal (2:30 - 6pm) for adults and kids which is nutritious and the event a wonderful way to connect with your friends and neighbors. It's free to all that want to be there, with the emphasis on bringing people on the Blue Hill peninsula together. The priority is to build connections, so everyone is encouraged to be there.
On the Blue Hill peninsula there are nutritious inexpensive meals available virtually every lunch time for anyone who chooses to be there. It tends to attract elderly diners but anyone is welcome. The menus are available in advance, you will get to meet your friends and neighbors, and have a healthy meal. Click the blue link above to see details.
