TOWN DESCRIPTION

With 53 miles of coastline, Brooksville is well-known for boating and kayaking along the Bagaduce River. Also an attraction is the pristine beauty of Holbrook Island Sanctuary, a nature preserve that is part of the state’s parks system. Buck’s Harbor is a yachting center for the area. The last handbuilt home of back-to-the-land pioneers, Scott and Helen Nearing, is located here, operated as The Good Life Center.
